Gene Wie is the Director of Orchestras at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut since 2020, where he also teaches Chamber Music and Music History. He previously served for fifteen years as Music Director of the Community Youth Orchestra of Southern California, and fourteen years as Orchestra Director at St. Margaret's Episcopal School. He was also the Principal Conductor of the California Solisti Chamber Orchestra, Artistic Director of numerous settings of the Summer Music Festival (est. 2012), and Program Coordinator of ChamberArtsFest (est. 2002).
A dedicated music educator, Gene is also an experienced Computer Science Teacher who currently leads cohorts in AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles in online learning, and together with his wife Chika co-directs the non-profit Musissho.org, as they partner together to offer exceptional musical instruction and community service outreach programs to students of all ages.
